The National Archive and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship discussed enhancing cooperation to preserve historical documents related to the UAE's achievements during a recent visit to Abu Dhabi.


Collaboration to Preserve UAE's Historical Records

In the framework of cooperation between the Archive and the National Library and the Federal Office for Identification and Citizenship, the State Security Service and border security points, the ways to strengthen joint work on the preservation of historical documents and records related to the history of the organization were discussed.

During the visit of the organization delegation led by the chairperson of the general directorate for citizenship, General Suhail Jumaa al-Hayali, to the national archive and library in Abu Dhabi, a unique project was presented that supports the preservation of documents and the strengthening of archiving, including a historical account of the collections and materials used in various operations of the organization and its services.

The delegation presented the goals of the project for the preservation of the organization’s history, work plan, organizational structure of the project, and a preliminary action plan. The mechanisms for collaboration in the field of document and information exchange were discussed.

During the meeting, the delegation made a presentation of historical documents and discussed the possibility of cooperation for receiving a permanent historical legacy related to the organization, and the restoration of historical documents to ensure their preservation for future generations.

The Archive and the National Library presented the basic legal requirements for the organization of archives in the country.

During the visit, the delegation visited the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Hall, which is an innovative museum experience, documenting the past, outlining the present, and predicting the future with the help of contemporary innovative technologies and methods of presentation.

The guests also visited the Sheikh Surra bin Muhammed Hall, which represents an important page in the history of the country, highlighting the achievements of one of its great leaders, who left their eternal mark.
